Plant Profile
Stipa ichu – Peruvian Feather Grass
Stipa ichu – Peruvian Feather Grass
A graceful ornamental grass with silky, light green plumes that catch every breeze and shimmer in the garden. In fall, the foliage matures to a warm golden tan, extending its ornamental value well into the cooler months. Similar to Mexican Feather Grass (Nassella tenuissima) but with the key advantage of reseeding far less aggressively in low-water conditions — making it a more garden-friendly choice for water-wise landscapes. Heat tolerant and adaptable, it performs well even in rocky or clay soils.

- Silky ivory plumes, golden tan fall color
