ABOUT ORNAMENTAL GRASSWORKS
Grown for the way real landscapes work.
America's premier ornamental grass nursery — exceptional grasses, sedges, and rushes grown for performance, not just looks.
OUR STORY
Ornamental grasses deserve a specialist, not an afterthought aisle.
Most nurseries treat ornamental grasses as a side category — a few pots near the perennials, picked for what looks good in a photo rather than what survives a real planting site. We built Ornamental Grassworks because grasses deserve better than that.
We grow and select varieties for what they actually do in the ground: screening a property line, holding a slope, surviving on minimal water, standing through every season instead of collapsing after the first frost. Every grass in our catalog earns its place by performance first.
Purpose-Selected Varieties
Every grass we carry is chosen for a specific job — privacy, drought tolerance, erosion control, or four-season structure — not just shelf appeal.
Climate-Smart Growing
We prioritize native and low-water selections suited to the way landscapes actually need to perform as water and climate pressures increase.
DTC, Contractor & Wholesale
Whether you're planting one bed or specifying a commercial landscape, we serve home gardeners, landscape contractors, and wholesale buyers from the same catalog.
Hand-Selected Quality
Every grass that makes it into our catalog is hand-selected for healthy root structure, true-to-variety form, and readiness to thrive once it's in your ground.
How We Ship Living Plants
Shipping a live plant successfully takes more than a box. Every order is pulled and packed close to ship day, root systems are protected and kept moist for transit, and packaging is sized to the plant rather than a one-size-fits-all box that lets roots shift and dry out in transit.
Plants ship on a schedule built around weather, not just order date — we hold or adjust shipping windows around extreme heat or freezing conditions on the destination end, so your grass arrives ready to plant, not stressed from a bad transit window.
Once your grass arrives, our growing guides walk you through planting, watering-in, and the first-season care that gets a new grass established with the least possible setback.
