Native Grasses

Explore grasses, sedges and rushes for native-inspired meadows, borders and naturalistic landscapes. Native range matters: a plant native to one part of the United States is not necessarily native to your garden's region.

Compare each plant's botanical identity, mature size, sunlight and soil-moisture needs. Native plants include both dry-site and moisture-loving species, so match your selection to your site rather than assuming every native needs little water.
