Its fleshy green foliage creates a spreading mat punctuated by bright yellow, daisy-like flowers in the warmer months. Plant it beside fine-textured ornamental grasses for a lively contrast, tuck it into a sunny rock garden, or let it trail over a container edge. The flowers open best in sunshine, adding cheerful color without obscuring the plant's low profile. Give it sharply drained soil and avoid locations where winter rain collects around the roots. Water during establishment, then allow the soil to dry between waterings; established plants tolerate dry periods. Trim wandering stems as needed to keep the planting within its allotted space.

Key Features

Plant type: Succulent perennial groundcover; not a grass

Bright yellow, daisy-like flowers complement green foliage

Low, spreading growth softens sunny garden edges

Drought tolerant once established in well-drained soil

Useful in rock gardens, containers, and alongside ornamental grasses

Growing Details
Height: Approximately 3–6 in. | Spread: Approximately 12–24 in.
Exposure: Full sun | Water: Low once established; excellent drainage is essential
Bloom time: Late spring through summer | Bloom color: Yellow
USDA hardiness zones: 6–9
